Adjusting shaft collar with special application options – new in the range

We would like to introduce a clamp collar that has only recently been included in our range. At Sigerist, the mechanical component is installed in the specially developed Synchro-LIFT levelling castor system. It is obvious that we like to recommend products that we are convinced of.

The special feature of this adjusting shaft collar is its good hold on hexagonal shafts. Compared to the shaft clamping rings from Sigerist, our adjusting ring impresses with its low price and the simple assembly, which is done by tightening a single screw. A disadvantage of the product is that the shaft is damaged when it is fastened by means of a set screw.

The product is available as listed in the online catalog, but can be ordered in various sizes on request.

You do not come from the technical sector? Then there may still be some unanswered questions:

What is an adjusting shaft collar ?

Set collars are usually simple mechanical components that are not particularly conspicuous due to their small size. Nevertheless, thanks to their widespread use, they have a high value as a mechanical component. They basically consist of a cast iron ring or a ring made of steel or stainless steel as well as a threaded pin that ensures the holding force. Likewise, the so-called set screw also ensures that the position remains unchanged even under the effect of load and torque and prevents the ring from slipping on the shaft. This set screw can be screwed into the inside of the ring or the shaft via a thread. The holding force is greater if the material of the axle or shaft is softer than that of the screw itself. The screw head can be completely countersunk in most versions, which ensures safer operation and prevents accidents.

What are adjusting shaft collars used for?

The adjusting shaft collar is used to secure mechanical stops. As a typical product of drive technology, its field of application is mainly in plant and mechanical engineering, where it is used to fix moving parts on a shaft or the shaft or axle itself in a certain position. Assembly is very easy to carry out thanks to the threaded pin used for fixing.
