Mobile office furniture for the office of the future

What are the needs for an office of the future?

The trend in today’s office space is more towards activity-based workplaces, requiring mobile office furniture. On the one hand, the workstations should be able to be adapted to the corresponding work activity, procedure and form of work and, on the other hand, generally be more flexible. The spectrum ranges from concentrated individual work to teamwork and innovation projects. Internal cooperation and collaboration with external partners and customers will also be promoted. Workplaces should be designed in such a way that employees feel comfortable and productive work is possible. But working from home is also part of new work concepts.

The aim of all these measures is the mutual exchange, mutual inspiration and motivation to achieve top performance and to turn new ideas into reality.

Work zones

The office of the future is divided into different zones, which should support different work activities meaningfully.

  • Co-Working Spaces: Open designed offices where workstations can be used by different employees from different departments or workstations which can be rented by the hour or by the day.
  • Team and project rooms
  • Quiet zones: Rooms that allow concentrated individual work, such as in a library.
  • Meeting zones: Zones where you can meet for coffee, discuss projects, play table football, etc.
  • Creative zones (“creative cave” or sprint room): zones with white walls, whiteboards, blackboards, flip charts, mobile office furniture to let creativity flow and visualize ideas.
  • Test laboratory: Rooms in which prototypes can be tested. These are designed completely differently depending on the industry.
  • Customer meeting rooms: Meeting rooms for customer discussions
  • Rooms for telephone calls and telephone conferences
  • Rooms for video conferences
  • Event zones: Zones where milestones can be celebrated, larger events for customers or internal events.
  • Activity zones: Zones in which movement takes place, for example in the form of table football, table tennis, etc.
  • Entrance zone: The face of a company both inside and out.
  • Bistro zone: An area where batteries can be recharged and exchanged. Good ideas are usually not developed in front of the PC, but in a relaxed environment.

What demands do the new work concepts place on office furniture?

Today’s office furniture should be flexible, versatile or even customisable. It should also meet changing requirements and be able to be handled quickly and flexibly. Mobile office furniture could offer a decisive advantage.

Possible solutions

Possible solutions for more flexibility in the office could be mobile office furniture:

  • height-adjustable tables
  • mobile tables
  • ergonomic chairs
  • light furniture
  • mobile shelves
  • mobile partitions
