Levelling castor or swivel castor with brake? We help with the choice
Swivel castor with brake
The housing of swivel castors is usually equipped with a ball or plain bearing for the directional changes of the travel movement. The brake or the locking device prevents unwanted rolling during stance. Locking is done by stepping on the corresponding pedal. The easy locking and releasing of the lock makes the castor very flexible in use. It is particularly suitable when objects have to be moved frequently and when stability is not the most important criterion for selection.
Levelling castor
Levelling castors are particularly suitable when objects are to be moved less frequently. Like swivel castors, levelling castors have a bearing for directional adjustments during movement. Compared to swivel castors with brakes, lift castors are more stable. Levelling castors allow objects to be placed on an integrated machine foot. This can also be levelled, so that the level can be evened out even on uneven surfaces and optimum stability can be achieved. This provides the greatest possible stability and safety.
The levelling castors sold by Sigerist are usually fastened with a mounting plate or a threaded pin. However, there are also versions that can be fastened by means of a back hole.
